Pinterest

  • New Pinterest Contest Rules Aim to Wean Out Spam: In an effort to avoid spam, Pinterest has made changes to its contest rules, ensuring contests do not suggest Pinterest sponsors or endorses the contest in any way. Contests can no longer require people to pin from a specific set of pins or from a particular website, and entrants cannot be forced to leave a comment on a pin or board. Check out the full list of rules here.
  • Pinterest promises ‘smarter search’ including manly pins for men: With men being Pinterest’s largest growing demographic, Pinterest has decided to revamp its search results to display relevant search results for both men and women. Rest easy, men! From now on, when you search watches or shoes, your results won’t be filled entirely with women’s clothing and accessories.

Snapchat

  • Snapchat’s new ‘Discover’ feature brings news to millennials: Snapchat’s latest (and greatest) mission is to bring news to the millennial generation. The Discover feature brings daily ‘packages of information’ to its users from news platforms like CNN, Comsopolitan and ESPN, helping millennials with short attention spans stay informed in an easy and entertaining manner.
