Newspapers Are Finally Embracing The Internet

Clive Lobo

Christopher KataThe last few weeks has seen a tremendous shift in attitude by the major newspapers towards embracing the Internet vs fighting it. For the most part major newspapers did not want their content appearing in search engines as they desperately clung to their model of forcing readers to pay subscription fees. In fact they fought tooth and nail even taking Google to court over Google News.

That’s all changing though! Some have dropped their paid subscription services exposing content to the search engines for free in order to capitalize on the advertising revenue they are able to draw in as a result. Others are partnering with bloggers in an effort to increase readership and revenue.

WebProNews did not a nice story on the Washington Post Helping Bloggers to Monetize.
