Google+ And Google Ad Words Integration

Peter Reitano

Google has grown into the most sought-after search engine giant due to its commitment to providing searchers with the most relevant content. An often overlooked aspect of relevant content is eliminating spam, scams, and false claims. Google’s social media platform Google+ can be used to verify claims that are often seen as sketchy by Google Ad Words. A few common iffy claims might be something similar to the following examples below:

  • “I own the fastest growing blog on the web.”
  • “I am a subject matter expert because I read a lot of books on this topic.”
  • “I can promise 24/7 customer service and a 100 per cent money-back guarantee instantly.”

How easy Google+ and Ad Words integration can be:

Google has published a number of tutorials on how to connect a Google+ page to a Google Ad Words account. After all, this entire process benefits Google as well. First, you need a quality Google+ page. After that, integration can be broken down into a few simple steps:

  1. Click on the “Campaigns” tab on your Google Ad Words account
  2. Click the down arrow
  3. Click the “Ad Extensions” option
  4. Click “View Local Extensions”
  5. Click “Social Extensions”
  6. Select Google+ as your campaign
  7. Enter the URL for your Google+ page

Celebrate! You just integrated your Google Ad Words campaign and your Google+ page.

One thing to always remember about social media:

Building a social media marketing campaign is not as easy as it might seem. You need to find quality followers in a large enough quantity to provide a meaningful amount of data. Also remember that having a disengaged follower base can be detrimental to your overall online marketing campaign. Using social media to add credibility to a brand or claims on Google Ad Words is much more difficult than using social media platforms in a personal context. Social media marketing campaigns should be planned ahead, built methodically, and reassessed as necessary.

Of course there are a few items to consider before integrating your Google Ad Words campaign and Google+ page. Google is working to increase the relevancy of search and verify claims; it may take time and you may have to go through a long process in order to get your Google listing or ads are published. Integrating Google+ and Google Ads is the easy part but executing effective social media campaigns can be difficult; you have to figure out a way to connect and engage with your followers to keep them interested in your brand.
