John Tory wasn&#8217;t the only Toronto\u00a0politician that\u00a0got in on the baseball action earlier this month, Norm Kelly AKA 6 Dad AKA Drake&#8217;s Guardian Angel managed to get his close personal friend Lil B to <a href=\"http:\/\/bleacherreport.com\/articles\/2578146-lil-b-blesses-the-blue-jays-at-the-request-of-canadian-politician-norm-kelly\">bless the team before they went on to crush the Texas Rangers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Although the Jays eventually got knocked out by the Kansas City Royals, we&#8217;re still super proud of them and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/sports\/baseball\/blue-jays-bautista-batflip-meme-1.3273814\">all the memes they inspired<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><script src=\"https:\/\/platform.vine.co\/static\/scripts\/embed.js\"><\/script><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uxpDa-c-4Mc\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe> <\/p>\n<h2>For Whom The Hotline Blings<\/h2>\n<p>Speaking of memes, Drake delivered one of the most meme-ready videos of all time this month. The video for Hotline Bling is honestly one of the most mesmerising things I&#8217;ve ever seen. From the gorgeous set design to the fact that Drake&#8217;s hips do not lie, the video for Hotline Bling is unforgettable.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the momentum from the video\u00a0didn&#8217;t push Drizzy to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, but it did manage to produce some of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vogue.com\/13363829\/drake-hotline-bling-video-memes\/\">the most hilarious edits I&#8217;ve ever seen<\/a>. It&#8217;s also worth noting that even though Champagne Papi got locked out of the top spot, this was still <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestar.com\/entertainment\/2015\/10\/29\/canadians-sizzling-on-billboard-hot-100.html\">a fantastic month for Canadian artists on the charts<\/a>. Drake was kept out of number 1 by Toronto&#8217;s other moody\u00a0superstar, The Weeknd. Bieber and Shawn Mendes were also close behind, giving us a couple more reasons to feel patriotic.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0V5ckcTSYu8\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe> <\/p>\n<h2>John Oliver Notices Us<\/h2>\n<p>Man, I&#8217;m killing it on the segues today. See, I just said &#8220;patriotic&#8221; and now I&#8217;m about to talk about the election. Now, that&#8217;s what I call blog writing!<\/p>\n<p>John Oliver turned his critical eye northward this month with a hilarious segment on the 42nd Canadian General Election. Even though the election is now over, it&#8217;s definitely still worth a watch &#8211; if not just for the it&#8217;s-funny-because-it&#8217;s-true potshots that John Oliver tosses at my hometown, Ottawa.
