According to the LinkedIn blog, it was the single most requested feature from the user-base. Apparently users feel they can recognize people by face better than by name &#8211; hence the overwhelming number of requests.<\/p>\n<p>I happen to agree. I think we&#8217;ll see a jump in connections being made on LinkedIn as a result. LinkedIn is take privacy very seriously so they&#8217;ve given users the option to control who gets to see their picture &#8211; connections, their network, or everyone. Good options!  In addition, members can control whether photos are shown to them even if they are available, so if you&#8217;re old school you can turn the new feature off!<\/p>\n<p>As if this was not enough, they&#8217;ve made sure that members can easily zoom in and crop their hi-res photo to exactly what you want. Now that&#8217;s a good feature especially since many people don&#8217;t have the foggiest idea how to edit an image &#8211; although that is slowly changing over time.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m glad LinkedIn has added this feature, and I for one will be adding my photo!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The popular business networking site LinkedIn has finally decided to allow user the option to upload a single photo of themselves.
