{"id":4406,"date":"2009-07-08T08:58:30","date_gmt":"2009-07-08T12:58:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hellospark.ca\/en-ca\/blog\/coming-soon-to-an-os-near-you-google-chrome\/"},"modified":"2009-07-08T08:58:30","modified_gmt":"2009-07-08T12:58:30","slug":"coming-soon-to-an-os-near-you-google-chrome","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hellospark.ca\/en-ca\/blog\/coming-soon-to-an-os-near-you-google-chrome\/","title":{"rendered":"Coming Soon to an OS near you &#8211; Google Chrome"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It finally happened &#8211; Google decided to cross over and start playing in Microsoft&#8217;s back yard, well perhaps that isn&#8217;t an accurate analogy &#8211; Google will be playing in Microsoft&#8217;s living room, with its toys and eating its chips (better :)). <a href=\"http:\/\/googleblog.blogspot.com\/2009\/07\/introducing-google-chrome-os.html\">Google announced<\/a> it will be releasing a Chrome OS, due for shipping in 2010.  Here it is, directly from the horses mouth:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010.
