- With Buyable Pins, Pinterest lets you buy stuff right in the app: Pinterest is set to roll out a new feature that allows users to purchase products without travelling outside the app. Buyable Pins will take users to a page with a ‘Buy It’ button when clicked and will include over 2 million products from major retailers initially.
- Instagram to open its photo feed to ads: Instagram has announced plans to give all advertisers access to its advertising platform. The ads will also feature improved targeting and prominent CTAs like ‘Shop Now’ and ‘Learn More’.
- Facebook Messenger users can now send maps to share locations: Facebook is continuing to build out its Messenger app with a new feature that makes it easier than ever for friends to share directions with each other. The new option will let users share their locations as maps in standalone messages.
- Periscope lets you watch the world live with new map feature: A new Periscope update expands the app’s search function by making it possible for users to browse streams by location.
