- LinkedIn Buys Newsle to Show Relevant News About People In Your Network: LinkedIn has acquired web app Newsle, which aims to deliver news to you about your connections on Facebook and LinkedIn. LinkedIn hopes this will provide professional insights for its users, helping them to know more about the people in their network.

- Google+: Fake Profile Names Are Now Allowed: Looking to maintain your anonymity online? Good news! Google+ has lifted its ban on fake names, allowing you to come up with a creative alias for your online persona.
- Twitter Acquires CardSpring To Power In-Tweet Commerce And Offers: Twitter is taking full advantage of those spur of the moment buying decisions! Twitter’s newest acquisition, CardSpring, will allow developers to create card-linked offers such as electronic coupons, loyalty cards, and virtual currencies. Users who choose to take advantage of a discount offer from a retailer’s tweet may be asked to enter their credit card number. When that user goes to make a purchase with that retailer (online or offline!), CardSpring will recognize their credit card number and apply the discount.
