Facebook Video

Facebook

  • Facebook to Buy LiveRail, the Third-Biggest Video Ad Seller: Great news for those looking to invest in Facebook video ads – Facebook has acquired LiveRail, one of the biggest video ad sellers. Brian Boland, VP-ads product marketing at Facebook stated, “We believe that LiveRail, Facebook and the premium publishers it serves have an opportunity to make video ads better and more relevant for the hundreds of millions of people who watch digital video every month.”
  • Facebook Becomes a Local Party Discovery Tool With “Events For You” Redesign: Facebook has revamped Events with a new ‘Events For You’ tab which recommends events it thinks you will enjoy based on its knowledge of you and your interests. Events will be recommended to you even if no one has invited you, none of your friends are going, and you’ve never been to the venue before!

Google Authorship

Google+

  • The Real Reason Google+ Authorship Photos Are Gone: Last week, Google announced they were removing authorship photos and circle counts from SERPs. Many are now theorizing that the reason behind this decision may be the fact that the high click through rate on the authorship results with photos was costing Google to lose money with advertisers receiving fewer clicks.

YouTube

YouTube

  • YouTube Rolls Out A Bigger Video Player: Recently, you may have noticed YouTube’s change to its video player, with the player now stretching further across the screen, making the content more central to your window. This change will go hand in hand with YouTube’s new music subscription service!
