I guess Pligg as a platform is really taking off. I was doing some research for a prospect today and came across 3rd party Pligg templates.
Pligg as a platform is really quite amazing. In about 30 minutes you can have your own Digg style social media site up and running. That’s amazing if you ask me. If you were to program this from the ground up yourself you’d be looking at least 3 months of development time probably $20K – $30K in cost depending how much your paying the developers!
There are quite a few sites now using the platform and it’s becoming popular enough that designers are beginning to develop 3rd party designs which can be purchased. It’s following in the footsteps of WordPress in this regard. The site I recently came across that really grabbed my attention was Pligg-Templates.com. If you’re interested in Pligg but don’t like the default design – I encourage you to check out their site.
