Microsoft Launches Free Enterprise Search Software – Search Server 2008 Express

Clive Lobo

Microsoft has launched it’s “FREE” Enterprise Search Software called Search Server 2008 Express.

In their quest to compete with Google Microsoft has launched Search Server 2008 Express. It’s a free Enterprise search application that can index local shares and websites – as well as key business applications with Federated Search Connectors.

I’m pleased to see this product come out at all because it’s imperative that MS be innovating in order to stay in the minds of key user groups. The fact that it’s free without advertising is outstanding! If you’re interested in boosting access to corporate information I suggest you download it and give it a try!

I’ll be testing this product out to see how well it works. I’ll post up my comments on the blog afterwards.
