It’s not a major announcement, but it’s interesting. Google has released into Webmaster Tools a free Robots.txt generator.
With all of the developers that Microsoft has, why can’t they simply sit back and write all of the cool tools we webmasters wish we had? Google beat them to the punch again with this simple but convenient tool for generating your robots.txt files.
It’s an important file and getting it wrong can mean losing all of your rankings. Creating it within Google Webmaster tools at least ensures that Google can read your robots.txt – just be sure not to Disallow all spiders 🙂
